Notes:
- A FIARFIELD Hospital initiative to improve meal consumption for elderly patients.
- Nursing staff rescheduled their meal breaks.
- The 2010 NSW Health Awards extend throughout the NSW Health service.
Summary:
A Fairfield Hospital initiative to improve meal cosumption and the nutrition of elderly patients has earned it selection as a finalist in the 2010 NSW Health Awards. Three months after the initaitive was introduced, another survey showed the amount of food eaten by elderly patients had increased almost 30 per cent. Winner of the NSW Health Awards will be announced at a ceremony at Australian Technology Park on Friday.
Personal reflection:
It is really important to help elderly patients with their meal or to wearing their cloths because most of them are unable to do these things by themselves so they will need more support from nurses and unfortunatly they are not available all the time.
